Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A delivered a welcoming speech, Youth, especially students, must take a role in efforts to preserve culture and cultural heritage in North Sumatra. This is a form of our devotion to the community, as well as a form of our efforts to strengthen our identity as a great nation. Through this activity, in addition to expanding our network of cooperation with other agencies and institutions, students are also expected to be critical and consciously involved in efforts to advance culture as a basis for national development.

The increasingly rapid development of globalization makes access to information easy. The ease of accessing this information can have positive and negative impacts on the development of society in social life. This is certainly a challenge in itself, considering that all information can be accessed, including information related to the culture of other nations. As a nation that does not isolate itself from access to the outside world, this phenomenon is commonplace. However, if it is not fortified with a strong Pancasila spirit as a filter for foreign culture, all forms of culture and cultural values belonging to the nation itself will slowly disappear.

Cultural Heritage is one of the variables that can strengthen the nation's identity. As a nation with a long history, the Indonesian nation certainly has important relics that are part of its civilization culture. In historical periodization, these relics are silent witnesses of the progress of civilization that has occurred in Indonesia. One of the areas that has historical relics is North Sumatra Province.

The activity continued with a group photo and the presentation of certificates by Radio Kardopa, represented by Mr. Pieter Manopo to the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. The Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences also presented souvenirs to Mr. Pieter Manopo as a representative of Radio Kardopa and also to one of the speakers, namely Mr. Abdul Rahim Siregar, S.T., M.T., who is a Member of Commission D for Development, DPRD of North Sumatra Province.
