This also reflects the collaboration between academics, government, and the business world to maintain the cultural richness of North Sumatra.

"Therefore, efforts to preserve and develop traditional arts must continue to be carried out, not only by artists, but also by all elements of society," explained Prof. Fidel.

Member of the Regional Representative Council of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) Dr. Badikenita Sitepu, S.E., S.H., M.Si., said that this event had gone through a long process, starting from the audition to the semifinal round, before reaching the Grand Final. This activity is not only a competition event, but also a means of building pride in the younger generation towards the local culture they have.

"This activity is a form of concern to raise and maintain traditional regional songs and music that have begun to disappear. "We don't just judge from the quality of the voice, but this is how he appreciates the song itself, (how) he understands the words, and when it is sung," explained Badikenita

The peak event featured the finalists performing traditional songs from various regions in North Sumatra with musical instruments typical of each tribe. The competition is presented like a festival to see the beautiful harmony of the native tribes to the immigrant tribes in North Sumatra.

USU hopes that this activity can be the beginning of a joint movement to preserve local culture. With the support of all parties, it is hoped that the traditional arts and culture of North Sumatra will remain alive and inspire future generations. This event is real proof that in the midst of the challenges of modernization, cultural heritage can still be maintained and continued to be fought for.
