Indonesia and Japan have a long history of strong bilateral relations, both in the fields of economy, education, and culture. Indonesia and Japan have established mutually beneficial cooperation in various sectors, this shows how important this relationship is for the development and progress of each country. One way to strengthen this relationship is through cultural diplomacy which can increase understanding and appreciation between the two countries.

Cultural diplomacy not only functions as a tool to introduce each other's cultures, but also as a bridge to build deeper emotional and intellectual bonds. Indonesia has experienced a significant increase in interest in Japanese culture in recent decades. Among them are anime, manga, J-Pop music, to Japanese cuisine such as sushi and ramen have become part of the daily lives of the Indonesian people.

However, public interest in Japanese culture is hampered by the lack of supporting facilities to study the culture. Therefore, the Japanese Cultural Festival "Aotake Matsuri" is here to celebrate and deepen this love by providing a platform to get to know and experience Japanese culture directly. This festival not only functions as entertainment, but also as a means of education that is rich in information and experience. Through various activities such as competitions, exhibitions, Japanese performances and others.

Therefore, we from the Japanese Literature Study Program Student Association (AOTAKE) agree and work together to hold the USU Japanese Cultural Festival (AOTAKE MATSURI) as an effort to provide opportunities for students and the general public, especially those in Medan, to learn and understand Japanese values, traditions, and arts and culture directly. These activities are designed to actively involve participants, so that participants can feel and appreciate the richness of Japanese culture in a deep and memorable way.
