Participants will gain an equivalent of 2 academic credits (SKS) by creating an impactful Cultural Heritage Documentary Video as their final project. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education & SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals), this course serves as a strategic entry point for global academic collaboration, international student mobility, and sustainable cultural documentation. Furthermore, the program creates opportunities for FIB USU lecturers to establish collaborations with lecturers and practitioners at both national and international levels, particularly in research collaboration and community service. Another benefit for FIB USU lecturers is that the program serves as a stimulus for conducting more research on the richness and distinctive characteristics of North Sumatra’s cultural heritage. In the future, the Summer Course Program may explore more specific themes related to local wisdom, such as traditional healing practices, ecological literature, the transcription of historical texts and manuscripts, traditional musical instruments, and other aspects of local cultural heritage.
