FIB USU PR -  On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the University of North Sumatra (USU) signed an Implementation Agreement (IA) between several study programs within the FIB and the Thai and Asian Music Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand.

 

 

 

The event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt. (Vice Rector III of USU), Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. (Dean of the FIB), Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba, M.A., Ph.D. (Vice Dean I of the FIB), Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum. (Head of the USU Office of International Affairs), and Dra. Junita Setiana Ginting, M.Si. (Secretary of the History Study Program).

 

The event was also attended by Ivan Sanjaya Siahaan, S.Sn., M.Sn., Adi Candra Silitonga, S.Sn., M.Sn., Ramanta Alkaro Sinulingga, S.Pd., M.Sn., Christine Margareth Hutahaean, S.Sn., Anisha Enjely Prayogi, S.K.M., M.I.Kom., Atikah Zahra Nasution, S.I.Kom., Yohana Ester Margaret Manalu, S.Sn., Julkifli Simanjuntak; Surya Kelana Pepayosa Siregar, Jonathan Maulana Siagian, Christ Eyghra Carbina Br Sinuhaji, Dede Gutama Naibaho, Hasian Prayitno, Yacobus Sinaga; Arya Rivaldo Surbakti, Frido Cteven Simamora, and Yodira Menonita Ginting.

 

The signing of this collaboration marks a strategic step in strengthening the academic relationship between the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of USU and Srinakharinwirot University, particularly in the fields of arts and culture, as well as internationally-based curriculum development. Through this agreement, both institutions commit to carrying out various collaborative activities, such as student and lecturer exchanges, joint research, workshops, and cross-border cultural activities.

 

 

 

 

This collaboration is expected to benefit the FIB USU academic community by broadening their global perspectives, improving the quality of education, and strengthening the faculty's position within the international network. With this relationship, FIB USU affirms its commitment to continuous innovation and developing global collaborations to improve academic quality and graduate competitiveness at the international level.

 

Indonesian Cultural Night refers to an event organized by the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok and various other organizations to introduce and celebrate Indonesia's rich culture, featuring various artistic performances such as traditional dance and music, as well as culinary specialties. This event aims to strengthen diplomatic relations, tourism, and friendship between Indonesia and other countries, especially Thailand, through cultural exchange.

 

Indonesian Cultural Night is a cultural celebration that brings together the diverse arts and traditions of the archipelago in one evening filled with warmth and splendor. The event features various performances showcasing Indonesia's rich culture—from music and poetry to captivating traditional dances.

 

 

 

On this special evening, the excitement was further enhanced by the performance of students from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra. Through dance performances and traditional songs such as Biring Manggis, Mardua Holong, Majuah Juah, Situmorang, Marombus-ombus, and Liso, the students displayed graceful, energetic, and meaningful movements, demonstrating their dedication to preserving Indonesian arts and culture. The participation of USU Faculty of Cultural Sciences students not only added to the excitement of the event but also demonstrated the younger generation's contribution to preserving cultural heritage and ensuring its continued relevance.

 

Indonesian Cultural Night is not just a performance, but also a space for appreciation, learning, and togetherness, connecting performers and audiences through the beauty of the nation's culture.
