The Public Lecture with the theme Native Americans in the United States aims to open insight into the history, culture and important role of native tribes in the United States. Through this lecture, it is hoped that participants will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and sustainability of indigenous tribes, as well as their contribution to the rich culture of the United States.
FIB USUPR - On Monday, November 27, 2023, the English Literature Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) held a Public Lecture with the theme Native Americans in the United States. This public lecture was attended by Vice Dean III who represented the Dean of FIB USU, Head of the English Literature Undergraduate Study Program Mahmud Arief Albar S.S., M.A., and invited Kristy Mordhorst as Deputy Consul of the United States for Sumatra as a resource person.
In this era of globalization, understanding cultural diversity is a necessity. One aspect that is important to study is the history and life of indigenous tribes in the United States, or what are known as Native Americans. Despite their rich cultural heritage, our understanding of them is often limited.
The Public Lecture with the theme Native Americans in the United States aims to open insight into the history, culture and important role of native tribes in the United States. Through this lecture, it is hoped that participants will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and sustainability of indigenous tribes, as well as their contribution to the rich culture of the United States.
By presenting speakers who are experts in this field, it is hoped that this public lecture will be a source of inspiration and knowledge for participants, motivating them to appreciate and respect the cultural heritage of indigenous tribes and enrich intercultural dialogue in today's global society.
