During this three-day event, students and lecturers had the opportunity to participate in presentations related to developments in sociolinguistics studies and discuss contemporary linguistic and socio-cultural issues. The discussions were interactive, with many questions and critical perspectives raised by students.
This Guest Lecture also demonstrated the role of students as agents of change in cultural diplomacy and strengthening regional scientific identity. Going forward, the Indonesian Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Humanities, University of North Sumatra (USU) plans to develop similar activities with more diverse themes, while also strengthening its collaborative network with partner universities in Southeast Asia.
