FIB USU PUBLIC RELATIONS – On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), strengthened its cooperation with UPT Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The activity was held at UPT Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara.
The signing of the cooperation agreement was a strategic step in strengthening institutional relations between higher education institutions and institutions engaged in cultural heritage preservation. This collaboration is expected to serve as a platform for developing various academic and cultural activities that benefit both the academic community and society.
Through this cooperation, FIB USU and UPT Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara can develop various collaborative programs related to education, research, community service, documentation, the utilization of cultural resources, and cultural heritage preservation.
The partnership also provides opportunities for FIB USU students and lecturers to gain more contextual learning experiences through the use of museums as educational spaces and sources of knowledge. The collections and various information resources available at the museum can support the development of academic studies in history, literature, language, arts, anthropology, and other cultural disciplines.
On the other hand, this cooperation is expected to strengthen the role of museums as public spaces that function not only as places for storing and preserving collections but also as facilities for education, research, and introducing and increasing public understanding of the cultural richness of North Sumatra.
The signing of the MoA reflects FIB USU’s commitment to continuously expanding its partnership network with various cultural institutions. The synergy between FIB USU and UPT Museum Negeri Sumatera Utara is expected to produce sustainable programs that support cultural heritage preservation while strengthening the contribution of higher education institutions to cultural development in North Sumatra.
