FIB USU PR - On Monday, September 14, 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), together with the Consulate General of India in Medan, strengthened their cooperation in education and culture through the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA) held prior to the Hindi Day 2026 program at the Prof. T. Amin Ridwan Multipurpose Hall, FIB USU.
The signing of the IA marked an important part of the series of activities bringing FIB USU and the Consulate General of India in Medan together. The agreement also serves as a foundation for expanding opportunities for academic and cultural collaboration and interaction between the two parties.
Following the IA signing, the program continued with Hindi Day 2026, organized by the Consulate General of India in Medan in collaboration with FIB USU. The event provided a platform to introduce and appreciate Indian language, arts, and culture through a series of cultural performances and activities.
During the event, Dean of FIB USU Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., delivered welcoming remarks. This was followed by remarks from the Consul General of India in Medan, H.E. Ravi Shanker Goel, who highlighted the importance of cultural relations and interaction between Indonesia and India.
Hindi Day 2026 featured a variety of artistic and cultural performances, including a dance performance by students of Perguruan Nasional Brigjend Katamso, a Hindi poetry and speech session, and a Hindi cultural performance by a USU student group.
The event also included the presentation of certificates to participants and performers by the Consul General of India together with representatives of FIB USU. The program concluded with a group photograph, serving both as documentation and as a symbol of friendship and cultural exchange between Indonesia and India.
The implementation of Hindi Day 2026 reflects FIB USU’s commitment to providing a learning environment that integrates academic, linguistic, and cultural dimensions. Students’ involvement in various cultural performances also provided them with firsthand experience in appreciating diverse traditions and developing broader global perspectives.
The collaboration between FIB USU and the Consulate General of India in Medan through the signing of the IA and the implementation of Hindi Day represents a strategic step toward strengthening international partnerships, particularly in the development of educational and cultural initiatives.
