Emphasis on Enhancing Academic Service Quality, Professionalism, Integrity, and Synergy Across Units to Support the Faculty’s Performance Targets
On Monday, May 18, 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FCS), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held its regular Morning Assembly in person at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences grounds. The event was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, and employees across the faculty.
The assembly was conducted in an orderly and solemn manner, reflecting the academic community’s commitment to fostering discipline, improving coordination, and strengthening teamwork and solidarity within the faculty. The morning assembly also served as a platform for disseminating information, evaluating work implementation, and reinforcing a professional and integrity-driven work culture. In line with USU’s commitment to discipline and workplace coordination, the event provided an opportunity to strengthen the commitment of all employees in supporting academic services and institutional responsibilities.
In his address, the Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Relations of FCS USU, Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum., expressed his appreciation for the dedication demonstrated by the entire academic community in carrying out their respective duties and responsibilities. He also emphasized the importance of maintaining work discipline, improving the quality of student services, and strengthening synergy among units to support the achievement of the faculty’s performance targets.
During the assembly, Dr. Zulfan also discussed the preparation and progress of accreditation processes for several study programs within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, namely the Batak Literature, Malay Literature, Indonesian Literature, and History Study Programs. He highlighted the importance of active participation from all stakeholders in completing accreditation documents, updating supporting data, and ensuring that all accreditation indicators are fulfilled properly. The accreditation process is expected to serve as a momentum for continuous evaluation and quality improvement, supporting the development of excellent and high-quality educational governance.
Furthermore, he encouraged all lecturers and administrative staff to provide maximum support for the ongoing accreditation process, emphasizing that accreditation outcomes are key indicators of the quality of higher education delivery and contribute significantly to enhancing the competitiveness of study programs at both national and international levels.
Dr. Zulfan also invited all participants to maintain their enthusiasm, professionalism, and integrity in carrying out their responsibilities so that the Faculty of Cultural Sciences can continue to grow and make meaningful contributions to Universitas Sumatera Utara and society at large.
Through the regular implementation of morning assemblies, the faculty hopes to cultivate a more disciplined, productive, and collaborative work culture while strengthening relationships among employees in achieving the vision and mission of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The event concluded with a joint prayer and a gathering session among employees as a reflection of the spirit of togetherness and family values that continue to be upheld within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. In addition to fostering stronger relationships among staff members, the assembly also served as a means of enhancing coordination in support of various strategic faculty agendas, including the study program accreditation preparations that have become one of FCS USU’s priorities in 2026.
