FIB USU PR - On Thursday, 23 January 2025, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), held a coordination meeting on the development of the Integrity Zone toward Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi (WBK) as part of efforts to strengthen transparent, accountable, and integrity-based institutional governance. The meeting was attended by faculty leaders, heads of departments, heads of administrative units, and the Integrity Zone development team within FIB USU.

The coordination meeting was conducted as a strategic step to ensure the readiness of all work units in supporting the implementation of the Integrity Zone development program. The agenda included evaluation of program achievements, strengthening supporting evidence for each assessment component, and strategies to improve the quality of public services within the faculty.

In her remarks, Vice Dean II Dra. Heristina Dewi, M.Pd. emphasized the importance of collective commitment from all members of the academic community in creating a professional and integrity-driven working environment. The development of the Integrity Zone, she noted, is not only aimed at fulfilling assessment indicators, but also at building a work culture oriented toward excellent service and free from corrupt practices.

Vice Dean III Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D. stated that the Integrity Zone initiative represents a concrete effort to enhance institutional governance and improve service quality to the public.

“The development of the Integrity Zone toward a Corruption-Free Area is a shared commitment of all elements within FIB USU. Through cooperation and consistency in applying the principles of transparency, accountability, and quality service, we hope FIB USU will become a work unit with strong integrity and capable of providing the best service to the academic community,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of the FIB USU Integrity Zone Development Team explained that achieving the WBK designation requires active participation from all work units. Each unit is expected to support the program through service quality improvement, public service innovation, and strengthening more effective and efficient administrative systems.

“Integrity Zone development is not only the responsibility of the team, but a shared responsibility. Therefore, strong synergy among all units is necessary so that every assessment indicator can be fulfilled properly,” the team head remarked.

Through this coordination meeting, all work units within FIB USU are expected to gain a stronger understanding of their roles and contributions in supporting the Integrity Zone development. With strong commitment and collaboration, FIB USU remains optimistic in achieving good governance and obtaining the Wilayah Bebas dari Korupsi (WBK) designation within Universitas Sumatera Utara.
