FIB USU PR - Thursday, July 18 2024, the Community Service Team, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) in collaboration with the Sekai Job Training Institute (LPK Sekai) Medan held an activity entitled "Educating the Japanese Work Ethic and its Influence on Religious Practices for People Prospective Muslim Workers from Medan".

 

 

This activity was held with the aim of providing prospective Indonesian workers who will work in Japan with an in-depth understanding of the Japanese work ethic and how to carry out religious practices while in that country.

 

The community service team from FIB USU who were also presenters in this activity consisted of two experts. Mr. Mhd. Pujiono, M.Hum., Ph.D. delivered material regarding the Japanese work ethic, explaining the values ​​of a work culture that upholds discipline, responsibility and hard work which are the characteristics of the workforce in Japan. Meanwhile, Mr. Dr. Windi Chaldun, Lc., M. Hum. provides tips and tricks on how to maintain consistent religious practices while working in Japan, despite facing cultural and religious differences.

 

The participants who were prospective Indonesian workers who would work in Japan seemed very enthusiastic about taking part in this activity. They actively discuss, ask questions, and share experiences and concerns they have. This dynamic discussion reflected the enthusiasm and readiness of prospective workers to understand and adapt the Japanese work ethic and maintain their religious practices.

 

It is hoped that this collaboration between FIB USU and LPK Sekai can make a positive contribution to the mental and spiritual readiness of prospective Muslim workers from Medan, so that they can work optimally in Japan without having to compromise the religious values ​​they adhere to.
