FIB USU PR - Monday, October 30, 2024 The Faculty of Cultural Sciences USU has held the 1st International Conference on Education, Linguistics, Language, Arts, and Translation (1st Icelalat) Along with the 6th International Seminar on Language, Culture, and History (ISLCH to -6) at the Le Polonia Hotel Medan. This activity was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A Deputy Dean I FIB Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba, M.A., Ph.D, Deputy Dean II FIB Dra. Heristina Dewi, M.Pd, Deputy Dean III of FIB MHD. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D, Chair of the Committee Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum and all participants and activity committees.

 

 

 

 

This activity also presents main speakers from various universities both online and offline. Assoc. Prof. Dr.NG MIKI LUAN (Inti International University Malaysia), Prof. Dr. Farok Zakaria (Prince of Songkla University Thailand), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anamal Damnet (Kasetsart University Thailand), Dr. Mas Ayu Kartika Dewi Binti Haji Mumin (University of Brunei Brunei Darussalam), Dr. Megan Collins (Victorla University of Wellington New Zealand) and Prof. Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum. (University of Northern Sumatra). also invited the speaker Dr. Edmund Chia Keng Wei (Consul-General of Singapore in Medan) and Mr. H.E. Ravi Shanker Goel (Consul-General of India in Medan)

 

 

Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A conveyed the remarks of this activity appointed theme : Applying Science and Technology to Develop Language, Literature, Education, Arts and Culture to reach Sustainable Development Goals.

 


In an era marked by rapid technological advancements and an increasingly interconnected global community, the fields of education, linguistics, language, art, and translation are undergoing transformative changes. These disciplines are pivotal in shaping cultural understanding, fostering communication, and promoting sustainable development. Recognizing the integral role that these fields play in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the 1st International Conference on Education, Linguistics, Language, Art, and Translation (1st ICELLAT) in conjunction with The 6th International Seminar of Language, Culture, and History (6th ISLCH) aims to create a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration.

 


By bringing together scholars, educators, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world, the 1st ICELLAT in conjunction with the 6th ISLCH aim to facilitate knowledge exchange, inspire innovative solutions, and foster global partnerships. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and paper presentations, participants will engage in meaningful dialogue, share best practices, and explore new frontiers in their respective fields.

 

 

Ultimately, this conference aspires to contribute to a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future by harnessing the power of science and technology to advance education, linguistics, language, art, and culture. It is a call to action for all stakeholders to collaborate and leverage their collective expertise to achieve the SDGs and create a better world for all.
