By presenting speakers who are experts in their respective fields, it is hoped that this seminar can become an inspiring and informative discussion forum for academics, researchers, students and observers of history. It is also hoped that this seminar will be the first step in building a wider working network between experts and practitioners in the field of history and other related disciplines.
FIB USU PR -On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in an effort to understand and respond to the important issues facing Indonesia today, the Bachelor of Historical Science Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) is proud to present a National Seminar with the theme "Contemporary Issues in Indonesian History: An Interdisciplinary Perspective". This seminar aims to discuss various contemporary issues in the context of Indonesian history, viewed from various disciplinary perspectives. This seminar presents speakers who are experts in their respective fields, namely Prof. Dr. Bambang Purwanto from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Prof. Dr. Reiza D. Dienaputra, M. Hum. from Universitas Padjadjaran, Major General TNI Dr. Pujo Widodo, S.E., S.H., S.T., M.A., MDS, M.Sc. (Han) from the Universitas Pertahanan Indonesia, and Dr. Zaiyardam Zubir, M. Hum. from Universitas Andalas.
This National Seminar was officially opened by the Dean of FIB USU who was represented by Vice Dean III FIB USU. "As Vice Dean III with the main duties of cooperation, research, community service and information, with this activity I am working together with the head of the study program to make an Implementation Arrangement for Universitas Padjadjaran, Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Andalas. Tomorrow there will be a signing, coincidentally Major General TNI Dr. Pujo Widodo is here to attend, we will make a MoA which will produce an IA with the Universitas Pertahanan Indonesia. This provides quite a big opportunity for the Historical Science study program. IA, MoA and MoU are the most important parts of a state university with legal status (PTNBH). So, this must be carried out every time there is a related activity involving partners, especially the institutions involved in this activity." said Vice Dean III FIB USU.
History is considered a mirror of the past that provides an understanding of the journey of a nation and civilization. However, history also has a strong connection to contemporary conditions faced today. In the Indonesian context, understanding history is an important basis for understanding the various issues and challenges faced by the country and its society.
In an effort to explore and respond to these contemporary issues, we are proud to present a National Seminar with the theme "Contemporary Issues in Indonesian History: Interdisciplinary Perspectives." This seminar aims to present the latest discourses regarding Indonesian history viewed from various scientific disciplinary perspectives, with the hope of providing a more comprehensive understanding and more holistic solutions to these issues.
By presenting speakers who are experts in their respective fields, it is hoped that this seminar can become an inspiring and informative discussion forum for academics, researchers, students and observers of history. It is also hoped that this seminar will be the first step in building a wider working network between experts and practitioners in the field of history and other related disciplines. It is hoped that the participants invited to join this National Seminar will be able to contribute to supporting a deeper understanding of Indonesian history as well as contemporary issues currently being faced.
