Students of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), once again achieved outstanding results in a national Japanese language competition. Julia won 1st Place, while Muhammad Alqi Sihombing won 2nd Place in the 2025 National Japanese Language Essay Competition.
The Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, FIB USU, sent two students to participate in the national Japanese language essay competition, namely Julia and Muhammad Alqi Sihombing. Both are students of the Japanese Literature Study Program and participated in the competition series and the national-level award ceremony.
The 2025 National Japanese Language Essay Competition and Award Ceremony were held from Saturday to Monday, March 15–17, 2025. The event began at 9:00 a.m. WIB until completion at the Ministry of Industry Building, Jalan Gatot Subroto Kav. 52–54, Jakarta.
In the competition, Julia won 1st Place, while Muhammad Alqi Sihombing won 2nd Place. Their achievements are a source of pride for the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, FIB USU, while also demonstrating students’ ability to participate in Japanese language competitions at the national level.
The 2025 competition provided an opportunity for Japanese language learners to develop their Japanese language skills through essay writing. Participants were not only required to use Japanese accurately but also to convey their ideas in writing through essays.
Julia and Muhammad Alqi Sihombing’s participation in the competition also provided valuable academic experience in developing their Japanese language proficiency and their ability to communicate ideas through writing. Their achievements represent an accomplishment in developing competencies in the field of Japanese language through competitive activities.
Through such achievements, the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, FIB USU, continues to provide opportunities for students to develop their Japanese language skills through various academic activities and competitions. Julia and Muhammad Alqi Sihombing’s success in winning 1st and 2nd Place at the national level is expected to motivate other students to continuously improve their abilities and participate in various Japanese language competitions.
