"Field practice is an effort to develop knowledge, build skills and attitudes that is carried out through learning by doing good. Field practice will build a foundation of identity and strengthen academic competencies that have been obtained during lectures. I hope that UKM students will gain knowledge and experience during their internship at 5 USU partners," said the Dean of FIB USU.

FIB USU PR - Monday, July 15 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed Inbound Students from Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). In her speech, the Dean said that this welcoming of FSSH UKM students to FIB USU was an implementation of the collaboration between USU and UKM which was carried out by sending 10 FSSH UKM students to FIB to carry out field lectures. UKM students will be placed in 5 USU partners, namely Tjong A Fie Mansion, Al-Qur'an History Museum, DAAI TV, USU Library, and the North Sumatra Province Language Center for 2 months starting July 15 - September 6 2024.

The Dean of FIB USU hopes that UKM students can improve discipline and interaction in work culture, this is because the work culture in Malaysia is different from that in Indonesia, especially North Sumatra. The Dean also hopes that the knowledge and skills learned while studying at UKM can be applied in their respective work partners' places.
