Batak Literature

Undergraduate Program (S-1)

The Undergraduate Program in Batak Literature of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is the only Batak literature study program in the world that is part of the literature department group at the Faculty of Cultural Science. Since its establishment, this study program has become a platform for talented students to develop their potential in the Batak literature field. This study program's main focus is to provide students with speaking, writing, and listening skills using the Batak language in its various dialects, such as Toba, Karo, Angkola/Mandailing, Simalungun, and Pakpak/Dairi. In addition, students will also study literature, language, and Batak culture and customs in depth.

I express my gratitude to the Almighty God for the availability of the Batak Literature Study Program website of the USU Faculty of Cultural Science. I would like to thank the Rector of USU and the Dean of FIB USU for their assistance and support in establishing this website. Furthermore, I extend my appreciation to the committee, programmers, and technicians who have worked diligently and tenaciously to make this website available. With the existence of the Batak Literature Study Program website, stakeholders such as prospective students, lecturers, staff, parents/guardians of students, the government, and society can access and navigate it to obtain comprehensive information about the Batak Literature Study Program of the USU Faculty of Cultural Science.
