Chairman of the Third Commission Prof. Dr. Ir. Darma Bakti, M.S. conveyed that the MWA's visit to FIB was carried out to monitor and evaluate the faculty's performance. This visit discussed the achievements and plans of the faculties at USU up to 2025.

FIB USU PR - On Wednesday, April 23 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) received a visit from the Third Commission of the Board of Trustees (MWA) USU. This visit was attended by Prof. Dr. Hasim Purba, SH, M. Hum. (Chair of Commission I), Puspa Melati Hasibuan, SH, M.Hum (Secretary of Commission I), Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Irvan, M.Si (Chair of Commission II), Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Johannes Tarigan (Secretary of Commission II), Prof. Dr. Ir. Darma Bakti, M.S. (Chair of Commission III), Prof. Dr. Khairina Nasution, M.S. (Secretary of Commission III), Prof. Dr. Guslihan Dasa Tjipta, SP.A(k) (MWA Secretary).

 

Chairman of the Third Commission Prof. Dr. Ir. Darma Bakti, M.S. conveyed that the MWA's visit to FIB was carried out to monitor and evaluate the faculty's performance. This visit discussed the achievements and plans of the faculties at USU up to 2025. "For information, the MWA's term of office will end in 2025, therefore the MWA will make an annual report during their tenure which has been evaluated at each Faculty at USU, as well as MWA will follow up in the following year," said Prof. Darma.

 

 

Vice Dean I Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba, M.A, Ph.D presented a performance report in the Academic and Student Affairs sector. So far there are 5 study programs that are accredited as excellent. There are many FIB USU students who take part in MBKM activities, PMM Ministry, PMM Consortium of Deans and so on. In 2023 there were 2 students who qualified as Awardees for the Indonesian International Student Mobilty Awards (IISMA) Co-Funding, while this year there are 3 FIB USU students who qualify as IISMA Awardees. In achieving international accreditation, there are 5 study programs that have sent forms to the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA). It is hoped that 5 other study programs can be appointed in 2025.

 

Vice Dean II Drs. Heristina Dewi, M.Pd., presented a performance report in the areas of HR, Facilities and Infrastructure. There is an increase in the number of doctors, currently there are 6 people in the process of studying. There are 26 non-PNS permanent lecturers, 14 non-PNS non-permanent lecturers. This can happen because the levels of civil servant (PNS) recruitment in the past and now are quite far apart, resulting in a shortage of PNS lecturers. There are 19 lecturers with professor positions and 52 associate professors. The number of internationally certified lecturers is 2, lecturers from the English Literature Study Program and the Japanese Literature Study Program who are internationally certified as translators.

 

Vice Dean III Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D presented a performance report in the fields of Research, Community Service and Collaboration. Carrying out research and writing as a result of international collaboration as well as obtaining Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in various countries. FIB lecturers have granted from the Sumitomo Foundation in research titles involving overseas higher education (PT) researchers per year.


In 2023, the Collaboration section won First Best in the Collaboration Data Management (MoA & IA) Category, 3rd Best in the Study Program category in collaboration with industry for the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program. FIB has invited 22 Guest Lectures, and this received the 2nd best in the category of the most Guest Lectures where the award was held in December. 2nd Winner The best Talenta Journal Organizer for the FIB Journal is the International Journal of Cultural and Art Studies (IJCAS) which has now reached SINTA 3.
