The Batak Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, organized a Forensic Linguistics Practitioner Teaching Program under the theme "Language as Evidence: The Role of Forensic Linguistics in the Digital Era." Held from 1–3 December 2025, the program featured Dr. Asrif, M.Hum. from the Language Office of North Sumatra Province as the practitioner and guest speaker. Through this activity, students gained an understanding of how linguistics contributes to uncovering facts, analyzing linguistic evidence, and supporting law enforcement processes in the digital era.

Throughout the learning sessions, participants explored the application of forensic linguistics in various cases, including speech analysis, authorship identification, interpretation of meaning in legal documents, and tracing linguistic evidence in social media and digital communications. The materials presented introduced not only theoretical concepts but also case studies and practical experiences, enabling students to directly observe the relevance of linguistics in addressing the challenges posed by the advancement of information technology.

Through the Practitioner Teaching Program, the Batak Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, remains committed to delivering collaborative, practical, and professionally relevant learning experiences. The involvement of practitioners from various fields is expected to enrich students' academic experiences, broaden their disciplinary perspectives, and inspire them to develop language and cultural competencies that are adaptable to the evolving dynamics of society and future technological advancements.
