FIB USU PR - On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the University of North Sumatra (USU) carried out the Signing of the Implementation of Agreement (IA) for the Public Lecture activity "Thai Traditional Culture In World Lecture Influences" Speaker Asst. Prof. Jirayudh Sint. huphan, Ph.D (Institute of Asian Studies Chulalangkorn University Bangkok) Moderator M. Azis Rizky Lubis, S.S., MA. which was held at the FIB USU Multipurpose Building by the History Study Program. Attended by the Dean of FIB Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A, Deputy Dean 3 Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D Head of Study Program and Secretary of History Study Program, Lecturers, Head of Sub-Division and Students of FIB USU.

Dean of FIB USU Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein M.A. delivered a speech at the Public Lecture activity, the Dean of FIB was very pleased. In this case, the Dean said that FIB has 15 Study Programs consisting of 10 S1 study programs, one of which is Library and Information Science and 4 S2 Study Programs and 1 S3 Linguistics Study Program.


FIB USU also has 4979 active students, the Dean hopes that this cooperation agreement can be implemented in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education activities and related to learning, research.
The Dean also said that currently FIB is preparing 5 Study Programs that will be Internationally Accredited by the German FIBAA Institution. Which consists of English Literature, Malay Literature, Arabic Literature, Indonesian Literature and Mandarin.


The Dean also hopes that through this Public Lecture it can be an inspiration for FIB students not only to develop imagination that can be used to deepen their thinking by bringing more awareness of values and world views and also values throughout the world and throughout history.

In the delivery of the material by the resource person, the History students were very enthusiastic about the presentation of the material. In the presentation, the resource person explained the cultural life and history in Thailand.
