FIB USU PR - On Thursday, January 11th, 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) together with the Quality Assurance Agency (BPM) USU and the Curriculum and Learning Innovation Institute (LINK-UP) USU held a Preparation for Monitoring and Evaluation of FIBAA International Accreditation. The meeting was attended by the Head of BPM USU Dr. Dr. Isti Ilmiati Fujiati, M.Sc.CM-FM., M.Pd.Ked., CIIQA, Head of LINK-UP USU Prof. Dr. Dwi Suryanto, M.Sc., Manager of International Accreditation Dr. Ing. Ir. Ikhwansyah Isranuri, Staff of International Accreditation Celia Vivi Ayunda Pasaribu, S.Pd., Dean and Vice Deans of FIB USU, Chair and Secretary of the English Literature Study Program, and Arabic Literature in Cluster 4, Indonesian Literature, Chinese Language, and Malay Literature in Cluster 5, education staff, and FIB USU's students who were involved in the preparation of international accreditation team.

In the monitoring and evaluation (monev) process that will be carried out in the future, the first step that must be taken is to register and then submit a Self Evaluation Report (SER). As was done by cluster 1, the initial step that must be completed is preparing the SER and completing the required data, then monitoring and evaluation and simulation are carried out. Currently the data and equipment for cluster 1 have been completed and plans are being made for the language transfer process from Indonesian to English. So currently what clusters 4 and 5 are doing is compiling and refining the required data.

In FIBAA regulations there is a page limit for SER, namely 60 pages for one study program, if there is an additional study program then it can increase by 10 pages from the initial number (60 sheets). All details are included in the appendix, if there is a website, it is hoped that it can be accessed by other parties. The SER that will be emphasized later is in the form of preparing RPS, if for a sample of 6-8 RPS. There are five chapters in the SER, namely Objectives, Admission, Content, Academic Impairment, and Internal quality assurance. Activities will focus first on preparing the SER and then regular meetings will be scheduled at the BPM per cluster for further assistance. One of the activities that will be carried out is monitoring and evaluation and simulation where each team will be asked questions related to SER. This is important because it is included in the internalization process.

In chapter one, there are 6 criteria required and the core of this preparation is in chapters 3 and 4. Effectiveness is needed in compiling the SER so that it does not exceed the predetermined page limit. If there are details needed, they can be written in the appendix. Everything explained in the SER must contain Plan, Do, Implementation, Check, Action. For Faculty leaders, in order to support the success of accreditation, they must pay attention to the facilities available in the faculty. For example, a classroom should have two exits, a fire extinguisher and sprinkler system. Learning facilities can be reached by students who have disabilities.

In general, the contents of chapter 1 are the objectives of the study program which are explained narratively, and evidence can be linked, chapter 2 has been carried out by the academic bureau, but there may be several other things that need to be added by each study program, chapter 3 contains content and conceptual which contains explanations, supporting regulations, reasons, examples and appropriate formats will be given. So, what actually needs to be focused on in writing the SER by each cluster is chapters 1, 3 and 4, while chapters 2 and 5 have been prepared by the university.
