This Halalbihalal event served as an important momentum to strengthen ties among the academic community while reinforcing the values of togetherness following the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.

In his remarks, the Chair of the Organizing Committee expressed gratitude for the successful implementation of the event and appreciation to all parties who contributed.

“Through this Halalbihalal event, we hope to strengthen the sense of family within the Linguistics Program, among lecturers, students, alumni, and staff. May this togetherness bring blessings and strengthen our synergy in the future,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Linguistics, Prof. Dr. Muliyadi, M.Hum., emphasized the importance of maintaining ukhuwah within the academic environment.

“Halalbihalal is not merely a tradition, but also a space to forgive one another and strengthen relationships. With strong togetherness, we can continue to improve academic quality and scholarly contributions in the field of linguistics,” he remarked.

In her address, the Dean of FIB USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., stated that Halalbihalal is not simply an annual tradition, but a meaningful space to reconnect relationships that may have weakened, strengthen existing bonds, and spread sustainable goodness within the academic community.

In the warm and harmonious atmosphere, attendees were reminded that academic journeys are not only built upon intellectual excellence, but also grounded in sincerity, togetherness, and human values. On this occasion, she also expressed appreciation to the Linguistics Program for organizing the Halalbihalal event.

Furthermore, it was emphasized that the Linguistics Program is not only a hub for the development of critical thinking and linguistic research, but also a space for fostering relationships—connecting program administrators and lecturers, lecturers and students, as well as bridging lecturers with alumni.

Therefore, all members of the academic community were encouraged to nurture the Linguistics Program as an open space for engagement, where lecturers and students can interact without barriers, and where alumni always have a place to return, share experiences, and grow together.

At the same time, sincere appreciation and gratitude were extended to the alumni of the Linguistics Program. Alumni are an inseparable part of the program’s journey and progress. Their contributions across various fields stand as tangible evidence of the quality of education built collectively.

Moreover, alumni are regarded as strategic partners in supporting the development of the program, including in accreditation processes. Their contributions are highly valuable, whether through ideas, professional experience, networks, or involvement in academic activities.

The synergy between the academic community and alumni is an invaluable strength. Through this togetherness, it is hoped that the quality of the Linguistics Program will continue to be maintained and enhanced, making it increasingly competitive.
