Alumni Gathering of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, USU: Strong Study Program, Dignified Graduates, Professional Alumni
On June 8, 2024, the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara held an Alumni Gathering with the theme “Strong Study Program, Dignified Graduates, Professional Alumni”. The Alumni Gathering brought together alumni of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, Universitas Sumatera Utara from various cohorts, starting from the establishment of the study program in 2000 to alumni who had recently graduated in early 2024.

In his report, the Head of the Alumni Gathering Committee of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Mr. Irwan, S.S., M.Si., expressed his gratitude to the Faculty of Cultural Sciences USU for supporting the implementation of the Alumni Gathering, allowing the activity to be carried out successfully. He also expressed his hope that the activity would run successfully without any obstacles.
In accordance with the theme of the Alumni Gathering, “Strong Study Program, Dignified Graduates, Professional Alumni”, it is hoped that through this momentum, the study program, alumni, and students can exchange opinions, experiences, and constructive feedback to support the study program in becoming stronger through quality curricula, teaching, and various other academic activities that are needed in the workforce. Thus, the study program is expected to produce graduates who are dignified in society and ready to join all alumni as professionals in various fields.
In his remarks, the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Mr. Alimansyar, M.A., Ph.D., expressed his hope that through this Alumni Gathering, graduates of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU could share experiences, feedback, and motivation with newly graduated alumni as well as active students of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU. This is expected to help students and newly graduated alumni prepare themselves from an early stage to enter the workforce and become part of society.

He also outlined the vision and mission, as well as various work programs and achievements of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU to date, including its achievement as one of the best study programs in establishing collaborative relationships with various institutions, both nationally and internationally.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Alumni Association of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU, Mr. Yala Awlya Perkasa Zen, S.S., M.Si., welcomed the study program's initiative to share experiences and motivation with newly graduated alumni and active students. The man, who also serves as Branch Manager of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. KCP Pematang Siantar, also invited all alumni to support the success of every activity organized by the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU in the future.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences USU, represented by Dr. Tasnim Lubis, S.Pd.I., M.Hum., expressed support for the Alumni Gathering of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU. He also hoped that this activity would make a positive contribution to improving Key Performance Indicator 1 (IKU 1) of the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature USU, which can track and record graduates who have obtained decent employment.
