This activity is expected to provide significant support for the achievement of the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU), especially IKU-7. Not only that, it is hoped that alignment with the OBE approach will also be able to make a positive contribution to the process of completing the international accreditation currently being proposed by the Arabic Literature Study Program.
FIB USU PR - This training activity was held on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, from 09.00 to 15.30 WIB, at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences meeting room. The participants in this training activity were all lecturers in the Arabic Literature study program who were also accompanied by several students. Serving as host for this training activity was Ayu Ningsih Siregar, a student from the Arabic Literature Study Program. The person acting as moderator is Mr. Andi Pratama Lubis S.S., M.Hum., who currently also serves as Secretary of the Arabic Literature Study Program.

The internal training activity for preparing OBE-based RPS was opened directly by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences; Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba, M.A., Ph.D. Also attending this activity were Vice Dean III; Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D., and Head of the Arabic Literature Study Program Dr. Nursukma Suri, M.Ag.
In his speech, Vice Dean I appreciated the activities carried out by the Arabic Literature Study Program and advised that this activity could improve the quality of the RPS which was prepared in order to support the completeness of international accreditation which is currently being proposed by the Arabic Literature Study Program.
The RPS OBE training material was delivered directly by Ely Hayati Nasution S.S., M.Si as the resource person. She is a lecturer from the English Literature Study Program at USU's Faculty of Cultural Sciences and currently also serves as Secretary at the Institute for Curriculum and Learning Innovation (LINK-UP).
The resource persons gave presentations in two sessions. The first session lasts around 120 minutes and the second session continues after ISOMA, also around 120 minutes. The training participants showed their enthusiasm in receiving the material provided by the resource person regarding how to prepare a Semester Learning Plan (RPS) based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). This can be seen from the active discussions that occurred during the training. After the presentation session was over, it continued with a discussion and question and answer session. The activity ended at 15.30 WIB marked by a certificate handover session to the resource persons.
This activity is an inseparable and very important aspect for lecturers in the Arabic Literature Study Program. This aims to provide a good understanding of how to prepare Semester Learning Plans (RPS) based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), as well as to broaden insight into the nature of learning planning in the classroom. Apart from that, this activity is expected to provide significant support for the achievement of the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU), especially IKU-7. Not only that, it is hoped that alignment with the OBE approach will also be able to make a positive contribution to the process of completing the international accreditation currently being proposed by the Arabic Literature Study Program. Thus, this activity has a big impact in improving the quality of education in line with supporting the vision and mission of the University, Faculty and Arabic Literature Study Program.
The main output of this activity is the preparation of a structured and measurable learning plan during lectures. This learning plan will then be implemented directly in the lecture process, with the main aim of preparing Arabic Literature students at USU's Faculty of Cultural Sciences to become graduates who are ready to use in the industrial world.
