FIB USU PR - On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Ethnomusicology Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), held the Inauguration of the Board of the Ethnomusicology Alumni Association (IKA Ethnomusicology FIB USU) for the 2026–2030 Term. The event served as an important occasion to strengthen ties among alumni, the academic community, and the alma mater, while encouraging alumni contributions to the development of the Ethnomusicology Study Program and FIB USU.


The inauguration was attended and supported by representatives of IKA Ethnomusicology, IKA FIB USU, alumni, the FIB USU Dean’s Office, faculty members, the Ethnomusicology Student Association of FIB USU, as well as various other stakeholders who contributed to the successful implementation of the event.


The event reflected a strong spirit of togetherness and alumni commitment to the alma mater. The newly inaugurated IKA Ethnomusicology Board for the 2026–2030 term is expected to serve as a platform for strengthening alumni engagement, communication, and collaboration with the Ethnomusicology Study Program and FIB USU.


Through its new leadership, IKA Ethnomusicology is expected to play an active role in supporting academic and non-academic activities, creating opportunities for collaboration, and making sustainable contributions to the advancement of the alma mater and the field of ethnomusicology.


The Ethnomusicology Study Program, FIB USU, expressed its appreciation and pride in the spirit of togetherness demonstrated by all parties involved in the event. The support of alumni, students, faculty members, university leaders, and the organizing committee represents an important foundation for fostering a collaborative academic environment.


Following the successful completion of the event, the Ethnomusicology Study Program, FIB USU, extends its appreciation to the entire organizing committee, the IKA Ethnomusicology Board, IKA FIB USU, alumni, the FIB USU Dean’s Office, faculty members, the Ethnomusicology Student Association of FIB USU, and all parties who contributed their support.


The Ethnomusicology Study Program, FIB USU, also extends its apologies for any shortcomings that may have occurred during the event. The spirit of collaboration and togetherness established through this occasion is expected to continue through various programs and initiatives that benefit alumni, students, the study program, and the alma mater.
