FIB USU PR - Friday, June 21st 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) inaugurated the management of the FIB USU Student Executive Board (BEM) for the 2024 - 2025 period. The inauguration with the theme "Revitalizing Synergy to realize a progressive and innovative BEM" was attended by representatives Vice Rector I, Director of the Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations (Ditmawalumni) USU Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi., M.Psi., Manager of Character Development, Creativity and Student Achievement Muhammad Gahara, S.T., and BEM Faculty within USU.
Director of Ditmawalumni USU Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi., M.Psi. in her speech, really appreciated the deans and lecturers who have made efforts to reach out to students at FIB who are under the Student Organization (Ormawa). "Dynamics usually occur when there are differences of opinion. On one hand, these dynamics allow Ormawa to be able to work together in making decisions to resolve a problem. Problems will always exist, there will always be camps that make differences, but today FIB can carry out the first inauguration of BEM within USU," said Rahma.
FIB USU Dean Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. would like to thank the director of the Ditmawalumni USU and all those who attended this inauguration event and are grateful that FIB was used as a reference and model in Ormawa by the Ditmawalumni USU. The Dean hopes that BEM in this period will not only shape character, but also will support FIB and USU. "I hope that the chairman, deputy chairman and their members who will be appointed can be trusted to lead and carry this organization so that FIB USU's name will be known extensively," said Prof. Thyrhaya.
The Dean also said that FIB USU BEM could work together in advancing USU's academic community, whose main task is the implementation of the tridharma to achieve the main goals, namely Key Performance Indicators (IKU) and towards internationalization, namely the World Class University (WCU) program. "This is already in the contract, of course students will be involved. Students' achievements in national and international level really support the progress of the Faculty and University. So for that reason, we really hope for the participation of FIB USU BEM to support student programs that will bring goodness and progress to USU ," continued Prof. Thyrhaya.
After welcoming remarks from the Director of the Ditmawalumni USU and the FIB USU Dean, the event continued with the inauguration of the FIB USU BEM and the reading of the Oath of Position for the FIB USU BEM Management, led by the FIB USU Dean. By reading the oath, the student has legally become the management of BEM FIB USU for the 2024-2025 period.
Muhammad Syauqi Aulia Saufi, student of the Arabic Literature Study Program year 2021 who has been appointed Chair of FIB USU BEM for the 2024 - 2025 period thanked all those present who had entrusted him to carry out this mandate. Syauqi said that we still have a lot of work to do to build the nation, universities, especially FIB. For this reason, there needs to be collaboration between the FIB USU BEM management and the dean, academic community, HMJ (Department Student Association) and others. "My vision and mission in the future is to realize FIB USU BEM as a forum for collaboration between all parties in building our common goal," said Syauqi.
