FIB USU PR - On Thursday, July 9, 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held the Technical Guidance Program at the Prof. T. Amin Ridwan Multipurpose Hall, FIB USU. The program reflects the Faculty's commitment to enhancing the quality of its human resources through systematic, measurable, and sustainable lecturer career development and talent management.

The event was officially opened by Ely Hayati Nasution, S.S., M.Si., CIT, Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure. It was attended by the Faculty leadership, Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, permanent civil servant and non-civil servant lecturers, administrative staff, and members of the academic community of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences.

The keynote speaker was Joko Susilo, S.Kom., M.Kom., Secretary of the Directorate of Human Resources at Universitas Sumatera Utara, who delivered presentations on various aspects of academic career development. The topics covered included the administration of study leave, the fulfillment of Lecturer Workload (BKD), the preparation of Employee Performance Targets (SKP), the acceleration of Academic Rank Promotion (JAD), and strategies for improving the success rate of Lecturer Certification (Serdos).

Through this program, participants gained a more comprehensive understanding of the administrative procedures and regulatory frameworks that support academic career advancement. In addition to strengthening lecturers' competencies in fulfilling administrative requirements, the technical guidance also encouraged participants to prepare supporting documents in a more systematic, accurate, and compliant manner.

During the discussion session, participants had the opportunity to raise questions and discuss challenges related to academic rank promotion, BKD reporting, SKP preparation, and lecturer certification. The forum served as a platform for exchanging experiences while strengthening coordination between the Faculty and the Directorate of Human Resources of Universitas Sumatera Utara in providing continuous support for lecturers' career development.

The program is expected to increase the number of lecturers successfully applying for academic promotion, obtaining lecturer certification, and preparing higher-quality BKD and SKP reports. Furthermore, a more structured talent management system is expected to support the development of sustainable, professional human resources that are aligned with the strategic objectives of Universitas Sumatera Utara.

Through the implementation of this Technical Guidance Program on Career Acceleration and Talent Management for Lecturers, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of its human resources, strengthening lecturers' professionalism, and fostering an excellent academic culture in support of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and Universitas Sumatera Utara's vision of becoming a globally competitive university.
