FIB USU PR -  On Thursday, 29 January 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), held a Socialization Meeting on the Regulation of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Number 52 of 2025 concerning the Profession, Career, and Income of Lecturers. The meeting took place in the FIB USU Meeting Room.

 

 

 

The meeting was attended by the Dean of FIB USU, Vice Deans I, II, and III, as well as Heads and Secretaries of Undergraduate (S1), Master’s (S2), and Doctoral (S3) Study Programs within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU. The presence of faculty leaders and study program administrators reflected efforts to strengthen coordination and align perspectives in responding to strategic policies in higher education.

 

In his opening remarks, the Dean of FIB USU emphasized the importance of this socialization as a common foundation for managing lecturers’ professions and career development. “Ministerial Regulation Number 52 of 2025 serves as a key reference for the development of lecturers’ professional roles, career pathways, and income. Therefore, comprehensive understanding and coordinated implementation across all units within FIB USU are essential,” he stated.

 

Meanwhile, Vice Dean I of FIB USU highlighted that the regulation has direct implications for academic governance at the study program level. He explained that the provisions of the regulation need to be carefully reviewed and systematically followed up by each study program to ensure alignment with faculty policies and academic quality standards.

 

Vice Dean II of FIB USU added that the aspects related to lecturers’ income, as regulated in the policy, must be thoroughly understood. He noted that a clear understanding of income regulations is expected to support transparency, accountability, and the improvement of lecturers’ welfare within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU.

 

On this occasion, the faculty also distributed a soft copy of the Ministerial Regulation Number 52 of 2025 to all study programs for reference and further implementation.

 

Through this socialization meeting, FIB USU expects all faculty leaders and study program administrators to have a shared understanding and readiness to implement the provisions stipulated in Ministerial Regulation Number 52 of 2025, in order to support the enhancement of lecturers’ professionalism and the strengthening of academic governance within the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
