

The Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara held its first morning assembly following the inauguration of its new leadership, led by the Dean of FIB USU, Mhd. Pujiono. During the occasion, the Dean introduced the Vice Deans for the 2026–2031 term and presented the faculty’s strategic agenda in the areas of accreditation, human resource development, research, and internationalization.
FIB USU PR - On Monday, 11 May 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara conducted its first in-person morning assembly at the FIB USU courtyard following the inauguration of the new faculty leadership. The event was attended by members of the academic community and administrative staff as part of efforts to strengthen discipline, coordination, and the spirit of solidarity within the faculty environment.
The assembly was led directly by the Dean of FIB USU, Mhd. Pujiono. In his remarks, the Dean introduced the Vice Deans of FIB USU for the 2026–2031 term of office: Dr. Zulfan as Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs; Ely Hayati Nasution as Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure; and Andi Pratama Lubis as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization.
During the occasion, the Dean conveyed several strategic agendas of the faculty, including preparations for the accreditation of four study programs aiming to achieve the “Excellent” status: the Study Programs of History, Indonesian Literature, Batak Literature, and Malay Literature. In addition, the Dean emphasized the importance of coordination in staff rotation, capacity building for administrative personnel through training and workshops, as well as academic assistance for lecturers regarding workload reports (BKD) and academic promotion.
In the fields of research and internationalization, FIB USU is targeting each study program to establish a Research Master Plan (RIP) by 2026, increase the number of Scopus-indexed publications by lecturers, enhance the number of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and granted patents, and strengthen academic and industrial partnerships at both national and international levels. FIB USU also continues to promote joint degree and double degree programs with international partner institutions as part of its internationalization efforts.
The morning assembly was conducted in an orderly and solemn manner with the support of all officers and the event support team. Through this activity, it is hoped that stronger coordination and a shared commitment will continue to develop in supporting the advancement and internationalization of FIB USU.
