FIB USU PR - On Friday, December 19, 2025, in commemoration of Mother's Day 2025, the Dharma Wanita Association of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra (FIB USU), held a social action by distributing rice to flash flood victims through the USU Cares program. This activity took place in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU, as a tangible manifestation of social concern and empathy for the disaster-affected community.
The event was led by the Chairperson of the Dharma Wanita Association of FIB USU, Mrs. Taulia, and attended and supported by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU. This year's Mother's Day commemoration is interpreted not only as a tribute to the role of mothers and women, but also as a momentum to strengthen humanitarian values, solidarity, and the spirit of sharing.
The Chairperson of Dharma Wanita, Mrs. Taulia, stated that the commemoration of Mother's Day provides an opportunity for Dharma Wanita to provide tangible benefits to the community.
"Mother's Day is not only a symbol of appreciation for the role of women, but also a momentum to foster social awareness. Through this assistance, we hope to ease the burden on our brothers and sisters affected by the flash floods," said Mrs. Taulia.
The rice aid distributed was the result of the participation and dedication of all members of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan FIB USU. All aid was then delivered through the USU Cares program, ensuring coordinated and targeted distribution to those in need.
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., expressed his appreciation for Dharma Wanita's active role in social and humanitarian activities.
"This activity reflects the concern and spirit of togetherness of the FIB USU academic community. The synergy between Dharma Wanita and the faculty is an important part of supporting the value of community service," he said.
The activity took place in a solemn and collaborative atmosphere. In addition to demonstrating concern for disaster victims, it also strengthened ties among Dharma Wanita members and strengthened collaboration with the faculty.
Through the commemoration of Mother's Day combined with this social action, Dharma Wanita Persatuan FIB USU affirmed its commitment to continue contributing to social and humanitarian activities, in line with the spirit of dedication of the University of North Sumatra to the community.
