FIB USU PR -Friday, January 19th 2024, The English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) held an "Alumni Talk 2024" event at the Prof. T. Amin Ridwan Hall. This event invited alumni from FIB USU English Literature.
This event was hosted by Desti Sumbayak. FIB USU English Literature alumni who are present are Sabaruddin S.S., S.H., MBA (President Director of PGN Solution), Subhan Hamdani Barus S.S., M.M (Export Import Businessman) and Panut Hadisiswoyo S.S., M.A., M.Sc (Coordinator OIC Foundation or Orangutan Information Center) and Head of the USU FIB English Literature Study Program, Mahmud Albar S.S., M.A.
The Head of the English Literature Study Program in his speech expressed his gratitude for the presence of the FIB USU English Literature alumni. "I would like to thank our Alumni who took the time to attend this event," said Mahmud Albar.
Panut Hadisiswoyo, who is also the Chair of the FIB USU English Literature Alumni Association (IKALSI), opened the 2024 Alumni Talk dialogue event, revealing that this was a rare and important moment for Alumni to attend together and get to know each other as well as support juniors in the FIB USU English Literature Study Program.
Subhan Hamdani also participated in conveying what his experience was like while studying at FIB USU. "Remembering 26 years ago when I was studying here, there are many things that I can't forget and that I went through from the lowest point to where I am today. This opportunity doesn't come a second time, so we have to pursue it and fight for future success," explained Subhan, who is also a lecturer in Logistics at a university in Medan. Subhan used this moment to remind juniors to stay enthusiastic because success is very easy to talk about but also very difficult to carry out.
Then Sabarudin also thanked the Head of FIB USU English Literature Study Program who had invited him to the event and expressed his pride in FIB USU English Literature. "Even though I was only here for a short time because I was busy working in Jakarta, my love and pride for this department is very big, because it was on campus that I studied and gained experience to get to my current position, a long journey that has become history for me and I will tell you a little about it. brothers and sisters who have attended," said the President Director of PGN Solutions.
At the end of the event, the three proud English Literature alumni together delivered a closing statement that struggle and hard work are the keys to success.
