FIB USU PR - On November 9 and 10, 2023, the Chinese Language Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) held the 1st National Congress of Chinese Culture, which was a continuation of the Chinese Cultural Festival which was held within FIB USU. This Chinese Cultural Festival began with welcoming remarks from the Head of the Chinese Language Study Program Niza Ayuningtias, S.S., MTCSOL., Dean of FIB USU Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., representative of the Chinese Consulate General Xu Chunjuan and the beating of the gong by representatives of the Rector of USU, Dr. Joiverdia Arifiyanto, S.H., M.H., marked the opening of this event.

This event is a form of work by the Chinese Language Study Program which is held every year. "This year has entered its 8th year, yes, and this activity is a means of introducing Chinese culture, and as a forum for developing one's potential," said Niza Ayuningtias, S.S., MTCSOL., Head of the Chinese Language Study Program.
This congress event also featured various performances, such as Chinese Shawl Dance, Lion Dance, Guzheng Music, Chinese Fan Dance, and others. Apart from that, there are also culinary bazaar stands on site. The Head of the Chinese Language Study Program hopes that next year, this event will be even more successful and more lively.
