Dr. Rahimah, M.Ag. was born in Hamparan Perak on April 11, 1961. She is a lecturer in the Arabic Literature Study Program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Commonly known as Imah, she specializes in Arabic language and literature, with particular interests in history and philology.

She earned her doctoral degree in 2009 from the Islamic Studies Program, with a concentration in Arabic Language and Literature, at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. In 2020, she participated in a short course at Ma'had Mu'allimi Al-Qur'an Al-Karim in Egypt, where she studied teaching methodologies for the Qur'an, Arabic language, and Arabic literature.

She completed her bachelor's degree in Arabic at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara, while her master's and doctoral degrees were obtained from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Her graduate research focused on the importance of Balaghah (Arabic rhetoric) in interpreting mutasyabihat (ambiguous) Qur'anic verses and in the formulation of Islamic legal rulings, both of which are closely related to the study of Arabic language and literature.

Throughout her academic career, she has actively participated in numerous national and international seminars, both in-person and online, and has been involved in various research and community service projects. In addition to teaching in the undergraduate Arabic Literature Study Program, she also teaches in the Master's Programs in History and Linguistics at Universitas Sumatera Utara. She also serves as an examiner for master's and doctoral theses in the Linguistics Study Program.
