FIB USU PR - On Friday, August 2, 2024, the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU, held a visit from TANAKA Maki, Go Gakko Foundation, and MITATE Professor Yoshitaka Kita, Kyushu University to the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra in the framework of the MBKM program. Students of the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, USU, to Japan (Outbound), Kyushu University Students Internship (Inbound) to the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program, USU Faculty of Cultural Sciences.
FIB USU received a working visit from the Go Gakko Foundation, one of the Study Program's International Cooperation Partners since 2022 in organizing the MBKM Program, namely Student Internship to Japan (Outbound). The visit of the Go Gakkou Foundation also aims to monitor and evaluate students of the Study Program who have returned to Medan by conducting interviews with related students at the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program office.
As of April 2024, the International Collaboration between the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program and the Go Gakko Foundation has succeeded in sending 43 students to take part in Internships in Japan, of which, 20 students have returned to the Study Program to continue their studies, and some have completed their thesis defense. Some of the students who have passed their defense are waiting for the departure process to Japan to work as full-time staff.
At the same time, the Study Program also received a visit from a Professor from KitaKyushu University, as a representative who coordinates the implementation of the Internship Program at his University. It is scheduled that KitaKyushu University will send 4 of their students in the MBKM Internship Program (Inbound) to the Japanese Literature Undergraduate Study Program starting mid-August 2024.
Prof. Mitate directly reviewed the Study Program office, the location of the lecture classes and the USU International Guesthouse which is planned to be the residence of their 4 students later.
Prof. Mitate hopes that the collaboration between USU and KitaKyushu University through the MBKM Internship program can run smoothly and well, and can be sustainable in the future.
During this visit, the two guest representatives expressed their joy because they did not expect to be welcomed and accepted by all elements of the USU FIB Leadership.
