The Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU), extends its deepest condolences on the passing of His Excellency Yasuo Fukuda, former Prime Minister of Japan.

The condolences were conveyed through the Consulate-General of Japan in Medan on Thursday, October 29, 2026, as an expression of sympathy and respect for his passing. Through this expression of condolences, the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Literature, FIB USU, also extends its deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and the people of Japan as they mourn this loss.

The condolences were expressed in Japanese as follows:

「心よりお悔やみ申し上げます。」 (Kokoro yori okuyami mōshiagemasu)

“We extend our deepest condolences.”
