FIB USU PR - The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (IKA FIB) USU actively holds events to strengthen relations between alumni, including the Iftar Together organized by IKA FIB USU on April 15, 2023 at Atsiri Café & Gallery located on Jalan Setia Budi, Medan.

This Iftar activity was attended by Prof. Dr. Hasyim Purba, S.H., M.Hum representing the Chairman of PP IKA USU, Chairman of IKA FIB USU, Apriadi Gunawan and the Board of IKA FIB, Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Dr. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A, several lecturers of FIB and USU Vocational Faculty, and dozens of alumni across departments/study programs from various generations within 3 decades, namely the 80s, 90s and 2000s.

On this occasion, the event began with the Report of the Chairman of the Committee by Zufri Hidayat, Opening Remarks by the Chairman of IKA FIB, Dean of FIB, and representatives of IKA USU. The event continued with a religious lecture delivered by Drs. Siamir Marulafau, M.Hum, and continued with breaking the fast together. This event was also filled with a poetry parade performed by several alumni and also by the Dean of FIB USU, who on this occasion read Emha Ainun Nadjib's poem entitled: My Soul Love, My Wings Longing.

Chairman of IKA FIB, Apriadi, in his speech said that in addition to strengthening friendship, this meeting also aims to convey that IKA FIB USU is ready to support FIB USU in achieving the Key Performance Indicator (IKU) targets that are the demands for the Universitas Sumatra Utara today.

In the remarks of the Dean of FIB, T. Thyrhaya Zein hoped that FIB USU could synergize with IKA FIB USU, especially supporting IKU including IKU 1 (Graduates Get a Decent Job), IKU 2 (Students Get Off-Campus Experience Covering internships, research, village projects, student exchanges, entrepreneurship, and teaching activities), and IKU 4 (Practitioners teaching on campus)

In addition, IKA FIB is also expected to support the USU's World Class University (WCU) Program through the role of FIB Alumni who are national and international practitioners to be able to teach at the FIB Campus. It is hoped that FIB USU Alumni spread throughout Indonesia and abroad can share experiences with FIB students and open the horizons of FIB students so that they get new knowledge and experience.

Prof. Hasyim in his speech that the role of alumni is quite large in providing input and programs that can improve USU's progress as PTNBH and FIB in particular.

This time the Iftar Together activity was closed with a group photo session.
