FIB USU PR - On Monday, March 18, 2024, the Student Ambassadors of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) visit the FIB USU Deans. The activity was attended by FIB USU Dean Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., Vice Dean I Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba, M.A., Ph.D., Head of Student and Alumni Affairs Subdivision Edy Siswanto, S.S., M.Hum.
The following are the names of the 2023 FIB USU Student Ambassadors:
- â Tengku Zaqierra Zaain (Ethnomusicology Undergraduate Study Program) as Arts Ambassador
- Hafiz Akmal Sadiq (Indonesian Literature Undergraduate Study Program) as Inspirational Ambassador
- Khairil Akbar (English Literature Undergraduate Study Program)
- Juni Ana Gea (English Literature Undergraduate Study Program)
- Aisyah Ratita Suhairi (Arabic Literature Undergraduate Study Program)
The FIB USU Dean congratulated the outstanding FIB students. The Dean hopes that the FIB Student Ambassadors can be good examples for students in the FIB environment. The Dean said that Student Ambassadors would be able to help with activities within FIB environment, for example preparing training or as event organizers and guest receptionists.
Vice Dean I FIB USU asked the Student Ambassadors why they were interested in registering as Student Ambassadors. Vice Dean I gave an example to the Student Ambassadors regarding the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA). Students are interested in joining IISMA because they want to study at a foreign university and achieve 20 credits in their study plan. "What achievements have you had as a Student Ambassador, or what are your future developments?" asked Vice Dean I.

The USU Student Ambassador election was held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in the Raja Inal Siregar Hall of the North Sumatra Governor's Office. This event was organized by MEPRO USU and supported by USU's Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations, and is held every year to find ambassadors who can reflect USU students and students. The number of students who have registered as Student Ambassadors is more than 500, and each USU Faculty has a student Ambassador with a term of office as Ambassador for 1 year or until the opening of the next term.
MEPRO USU is a student activity unit that has been established since 2008. This Student Activity Units (UKM) is intended to be a forum for developing USU students' skills in the fields of management, organizing and communication. As an organization that is active in implementing events, MEPRO USU has repeatedly been involved in collaboration with various media partners, agencies and event organizers.
