FIB USU PR - On Friday, September 19, 2025, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra (FIB USU) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with PT New Hope Medan. The signing of this cooperation agreement is a strategic step in strengthening synergy between academia and industry, particularly in the development of education, research, and community service.
The MoA signing ceremony took place at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra and was attended by faculty leaders, representatives of PT New Hope Medan, as well as lecturers and educational staff from FIB USU. The atmosphere was solemn and full of collaborative spirit, signifying the commitment of both parties to building a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership.
The signing of this MoA aims to expand opportunities for collaboration in various areas, including organizing internship programs for students, improving human resource competencies, collaborative applied research, and community service activities relevant to industry needs. Through this collaboration, USU's Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) students are expected to gain practical experience that will support their readiness to enter the workforce.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, University of North Sumatra, stated that the collaboration with PT New Hope Medan is part of USU's FIB efforts to continuously strengthen its partnership network with industry partners. This collaboration is expected to serve as a platform for the concrete implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, while also encouraging the improvement of graduate quality, adapting to current developments.
Meanwhile, representatives of PT New Hope Medan welcomed the collaboration with USU's FIB. They hoped this collaboration would make a positive contribution to the development of superior human resources with character and competencies aligned with industry needs, as well as opening up space for knowledge exchange between academics and practitioners.
The signing of the MoA between PT New Hope Medan and USU's FIB is expected to mark the beginning of various ongoing collaborative programs.
