FIB USU PR - On Thursday, February 22, 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) signed a Cooperation Agreement between the Historical Science Undergraduate Study Program of FIB USU and the Universitas Pertahanan Indonesia (Unhan) which was attended by the Dean of FIB USU Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., Head of FIB USU's Historical Science Study Program, Dra. Lila Pelita Hati Ginting, M.Sc., Sekretary of FIB USU's Historical Science Study Program, Dra. Junita Setiana Ginting, M.Si lecturer and student of the FIB USU's Historical Science Study Program. The signing of the PKS was carried out in conjunction with a Public Lecture at USU's FIB History Science Study Program with the theme "Military Reform in Indonesia: From the New Order Era to the Reformation Era".

The speaker at the Public Lecture activity was the Dean of the National Security Faculty of the Universitas Pertahanan Indonesia, Major General TNI Dr. Ir. Pujo Widodo, S.E., S.H., S.T., M.A., M.D.S., M.Si., M.Si (Han). This activity was carried out in the Prof. T. Amin Ridwan Hall, accompanied by the Head of the Master of Disaster Management Study Program, Colonel Caj Dr. Kusuma, M.Si and Unhan's FKN Academic Analyst, Major Cba Wilopo, S.E., M.M., M.Han.
The Secretary of the Undergraduate Historical Science Study Program conveyed the importance of holding Public Lecture activities so that students gain enlightenment about Military Reform in Indonesia: From the New Order Era to the Reformation Era. In the discussion session, FIB USU Historical Science Study Program students asked how the military paradigm changed from the New Order era to the Reform Era. The Dean of the FKN Unhan reiterated the military paradigm since the reform initiated by students in 1998, where the military withdrew from ABRI's dual function, namely as well as being a military force as well as a social and political force, changing to just being a military force.

This public lecture activity was attended enthusiastically by all participants who attended the activity. This was seen during the discussion and question and answer sessions, where participants were very active in expressing opinions and questions.
