Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum. explained that the judges will judge students based on several categories, namely logic, which means whether the content of the scientific work made by the student can be logical and can be applied in reality, then attitude, which means how the student conveys or presents his scientific work, and the last is aesthetics, which means the beauty of the scientific work and its delivery.
FIB USU PR - Tuesday, April 5, 2023, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held the Faculty Level Selection of Outstanding Students (PILMAPRES) at 09.00 WIB until it was completed. The PILMAPRES was held in the Prof. T. Amir Ridwan building of FIB USU. The event was attended by Vice Dean I of FIB USU, Mr. Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba M.A., Ph.D., the judges of PILMAPRES Faculty Level FIB USU namely Mr. Dr. Rudy Sofyan S.S., M.Hum., Mrs. Dr. Tasnim Lubis S.Pd.I., M.Hum., and Mr. Dr. Robert S.H., M.H. who is a lecturer from the Faculty of Law, Student Affairs expert staff as well as event moderator, Mr. Dr. Zulfan S.S., M.Hum., and students participating in the 2023 Faculty level PILMAPRES.
The event was opened by Vice Dean I of FIB USU representing the Dean of FIB USU who was unable to attend. Furthermore, the direction presented by Dr. Rudy Sofyan, S.S., M.Hum. He explained about the criteria for students who can represent the Faculty to compete at the University level. He explained that the judges will judge students based on several categories, namely logic, which means whether the content of the scientific work made by the student can be logical and can be applied in reality, then attitude, which means how the student conveys or presents his scientific work, and the last is aesthetics, which means the beauty of the scientific work and its delivery. Students who have Excellent Achievements in accordance with the 2023 Outstanding Student Guidelines will represent the Faculty to compete at the University level.
After the event was opened by Vice Dean I of FIB USU and Dr. Rudy Sofyan S.S., M.Hum., the Faculty level PILMAPRES competition began. Students who presented their scientific papers amounted to 17 people. The students consist of Indonesian Literature, Mandarin Language, Japanese Literature, Arabic Literature, Historical Science, and Library and Information Science study programs.
