FIB USU PR - On Thursday, 19 February 2026, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized a Research Road Map Socialization as part of its commitment to strengthening research governance and setting the strategic direction of research development within the faculty. The event was attended by Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D (Vice Dean III), Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, and lecturers of FIB USU.
The session was initiated by Vice Dean III Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D, and delivered through the Dean’s Expert Staff, Fikry Prastya Syahputra, S.S., M.Si. It aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the direction, focus, and stages of research development aligned with the University Research Master Plan and national research policies.
In his presentation, he emphasized that the research road map serves as a strategic instrument to ensure research sustainability, enhance the quality of research outputs, and generate meaningful contributions to the advancement of knowledge and societal needs.
Through the development of a structured road map, each study program is expected to identify flagship research themes, explore interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and optimize access to research funding at both national and international levels. The activity also encouraged lecturers to produce reputable scientific publications and impactful research outputs.
The discussion was conducted interactively, addressing the integration of research topics, the strengthening of research groups, and strategies to enhance competitiveness in securing research grants. This initiative reflects FIB USU’s commitment to fostering a productive and collaborative academic culture that prioritizes quality and sustainable research relevance.
