Vice Dean I appreciated the activities carried out by the Arabic Literature Study Program and advised that this activity could increase the motivation of lecturers in the Arabic Literature Study Program to prepare textbooks, which is one of the lecturers' special obligations which is reported every semester in BKD (Lecturer Performance) of SISTER (Integrated Resource Information System).
FIB USU PR - On Wednesday, May 2 2024, the Arabic Literature Study Program Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) carried out Internal Training "Textbook Preparation". The participants in this training activity were all lecturers in the Arabic Literature study program who were also accompanied by several students. Serving as host for this training activity were Ayu Ningsih Siregar; one of the students from the Arabic Literature Study Program. The person who acts as moderator is Dr. Zulfan, S.S., M.Hum., also assisted by a facilitator from the lecturer, namely Dr. Windi Chaldun, Lc., M.Hum and facilitators from the student side, namely Riswandi, Ayuningsih Siregar and Ukhty Syahidah.
The Internal Training Activity for Preparing Textbooks was opened directly by the Vice Dean I of FIB USU; Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba, M.A., Ph.D. and Head of the Arabic Literature Study Program, Dr. Nursukma Suri, M.Ag. In his speech, Vice Dean I appreciated the activities carried out by the Arabic Literature Study Program and advised that this activity could increase the motivation of lecturers in the Arabic Literature Study Program to prepare textbooks, which is one of the lecturers' special obligations which is reported every semester in BKD (Lecturer Performance) of SISTER (Integrated Resource Information System).
The training material was delivered directly by Dr. Muhammad Taufik, S.Si., M.Sc. as a resource person. He is a lecturer from the Chemistry Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, USU. The resource persons gave presentations in two sessions. The training participants showed their enthusiasm in receiving the material provided by the resource persons regarding how to compile textbooks. This can be seen from the active discussions that occurred during the training.
This activity is an inseparable and very important aspect for lecturers in the Arabic Literature Study Program. This aims to provide a good understanding of how textbooks are prepared, as well as to broaden insight into the nature of learning planning in the classroom. Apart from that, this activity is expected to be able to provide significant support for the achievement of the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU), especially IKU-5. This activity has a big impact in improving the quality of education in line with supporting the vision and mission of the University, Faculty and Arabic Literature Study Program.
The main output of this activity is the preparation of textbooks that are in line with the learning plans that have been prepared previously. This textbook will be applied directly in the lecture process, with the main aim of preparing Arabic Literature students at USU's Faculty of Cultural Sciences to become graduates who are ready to use in the industrial world.
