The Dean of FIB USU said that it was confirmed by the Minister of Education that undergraduate students are no longer required to write a thesis as a requirement for their graduation. The abolition of this thesis was formulated in the simplification of competency standards which became part of the Merdeka Belajar episode 26 series. This is a transformation of national standards and higher education accreditation. Undergraduate students can carry out creative work in the form of prototypes, projects, and others, one of which is a published research article. For Undergraduates, equivalent to the national journal SINTA 3.

Nursukma Suri M.Ag., lecturer and staff at the Arabic Literature Study Program. The participants in this activity were all students of the Arabic Literature Study Program who are currently in semesters VI and VIII.

Serving as host for this training activity was Dr. Fatimatuzzahra Nasution, S.S., M.Sc. Meanwhile, acting as moderator is Andi Pratama Lubis S.S., M.Hum., who currently also serves as Secretary of the Arabic Literature Study Program.

This internal training activity on Writing Scientific Papers for Students was opened directly by the Dean of FIB USU, Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. In her speech, the dean appreciated the activities carried out by the Arabic Literature Study Program and advised that this activity could improve the quality of students' scientific work in the Arabic Literature Study Program.

"Currently, the Rector of USU has accepted this appeal, and is currently preparing Academic Regulations (Pertor) regarding this matter. If an undergraduate or perhaps applied study program has implemented a project-based curriculum or Project Based Learning (PBL) and Case Method, then the final assignment can be abolished and no longer marginal in nature. But that goes back to the head of the study program," said the Dean of FIB USU.

The training material for writing scientific papers was delivered directly by Dr. Tasnim Lubis, S.Pd.I., M.Hum. as a resource person. She is a lecturer from the English Literature Study Program at FIB USU and currently also serves as Expert Staff to the Dean of FIB USU.

The resource persons gave presentations in two sessions. The first session lasts around 120 minutes and the second session continues after ISOMA (Prayer Break, Meal), also around 120 minutes. The training participants showed their enthusiasm in receiving the material provided by the resource persons regarding how to write good and correct scientific papers as well as tips and tricks for submitting scientific papers to journals or proceedings. This can be seen from the active discussions that occurred during the training. After the presentation session was over, it continued with a discussion and question and answer session. The activity ended at 15.30 WIB marked by a certificate handover session to the resource persons.

This activity is an inseparable and very important aspect for lecturers and students of the Arabic Literature Study Program. This aims to provide a good understanding of how to make a good and correct scientific work according to the guidelines. Apart from that, this activity is expected to be able to provide significant support for the achievement of the University's Key Performance Indicators (IKU), especially IKU-5. Not only that, this activity is also expected to be able to make a positive contribution in the process of supporting the readiness for international accreditation which is being proposed by the Arabic Literature Study Program. Thus, this activity has a big impact in improving the quality of education in line with supporting the vision and mission of the University, Faculty and Arabic Literature Study Program.

The main output of this activity is the ability of Arabic Literature Study Program students to compose good and correct scientific work (Proposal/Thesis) in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, and students, guided by lecturers, have the ability to compose and send their articles to journals or proceedings.
