Thyrhaya Zein, M.A. conveyed "USU is providing sufficient funds of 30 million Rupiah for each study program that carries out the Alumni Gathering because USU Alumni are the best. FIB really needs Alumni to encourage the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU) 1 - 8 and the USU Strategic Plan program stage 2 towards internationalization. One of the USU Rector's programs is to make USU associated with entrepreneurship. In relation to IKU, it is hoped that Alumni will be able to support IKU 1, namely graduates who quickly get jobs with salaries that exceed the minimum wage. The role of alumni is very important as at every meeting provide support to new graduates and then encourage them to accompany them to do internships in any company.

On Friday, January 12, 2024, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Utara (USU) held an Alumni Gathering and Handover of Traditional Musical Instruments for the Batak Literature Study Program with the sub-theme "Mburo Ate Tedeh" which was held in the FIB USU's T. Amin Ridwan Hall. This event was attended by the Dean of FIB USU Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A., Vice Dean III Dra. Heristina Dewi, M.Pd. Chairman of the Batak Regional Literature Alumni Association (IASDABA) Dr. Tomson Sibarani, M.Hum., Inten Bandung Prosus Manager Drs. Tigor Tampubolon, as well as a representative from the Jakarta Batak Center, lecturer at the Batak Literature Study Program, alumni and students.

Chair of the USU FIB Batak Literature Study Program Drs. Jekmen Sinulingga, M.Hum., expressed his thanks to everyone who took part in the Batak Literature Alumni Gathering celebration. This Alumni Gathering is one of the moments in which organizational movement partners between alumni and students contribute to each other's progress in the Batak Literature Study Program. The meaning of the theme "Mburo Ate Tedeh" is to entertain friends. We hope that alumni will contribute to the progress of the Batak literature study program. If anyone knows alumni of the Batak Literature Study Program who can contribute something that is very valuable for FIB and will also become a network for the Rector for the IKU 1 and IKU 2 programs.

Drs. Tigor Tampubolon in his speech said that the set of Toba Batak musical instruments that will be donated to the Batak Literature Study Program is an initial stage and will be continued with donations of musical instruments from the other four Batak sub-ethnics, such as: Simalungun, Karo, Angkola-Mandailing, and Pakpak- Dairi, which is estimated to cost around 400 million rupiah. Furthermore, Tigor Tampubolon said that all these musical instruments would be handed over to the Batak Literature Study Program if there was a suitable room for storing these musical instruments. It is hoped that these tools can be used to increase the knowledge of Batak Literature Study Program students. Therefore, it is hoped that this equipment can be used in collaboration with the Ethnomusicology Study Program.
