FIB USU PR - On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra (USU), held the IMSI Symposium 2025 Seminar “To Infinity and Beyond, Explore the Future.” Present were Mahmud Arief Albar, S.S., M.A. (Head of the English Literature Study Program), Dr. Muhammad Yusuf S.Pd., M.A. (Head of the English Literature Study Program), Ma'am Ely Hayati Nasution S.S., M.Si. (Lecturer, English Literature Study Program), Dr. Cyti Daniela Aruan (United States Consulate), Kania Alvira Kusnanda (Alumni), Muhammad Hidayatullah T. Sinaga (Chair of IMSI), Paulus Krisna F. Pakpahan (Chair of the IMSI Symposium 2025), and lecturers and students from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra. Held at the Multipurpose Building of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences USU.
The IMSI Symposium 2025 is an annual event for first-year students in the English Literature study program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra. This activity is part of the department's regular organization, IMSI (English Literature Student Association), which aims to introduce the English Literature department, specifically the English Literature study program at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, University of North Sumatra. The symposium, titled "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND, EXPLORE THE FUTURE," also aims to motivate high school students to actively understand the importance of English in today's modern world and to develop a deeper interest, especially in the English Literature major, which offers numerous benefits that can be shared with a wider audience.
This activity can increase motivation and practical skills in English. This English seminar is held as a medium to provide a deeper understanding of the importance of mastering English and provide motivation and effective learning strategies. Through this seminar, participants are expected to improve their English skills, understand its benefits in everyday life, and be motivated to continue learning in an interesting and applicable way.
