FIB USU PR - On Wednesday 29 November 2023, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) of the Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) held the Lecturer Competency Certification Test by BNSP in 2023 in the FIB Meeting Room. It was attended by 23 lecturers participating in the competency test from 9 study programs at FIB USU, which was attended by the Dean of FIB USU, Mrs. Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A, Vice Dean I Mr Prof. Drs. Mauly Purba M.A., Ph.D Vice Dean II Mrs. Dra. Heristina Dewi, M.Pd, Vice Dean III Mr. Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D, and Head of USU's HR Bureau Mrs. Dra. Syafnita Hanura Silalahi, M.SP and all FIB USU Lecturers.
The implementation of this certification test began with an opening by the presenter, Mrs. Dr. Tasnim Lubis, S.Pd.I., M. Hum. who is also a member of the accompanying team for competency test participants. The activity took place from morning to evening starting with a briefing on the Implementation of the 2023 FIB USU Competency Certification Test which was delivered by two resource persons, namely Mrs. Epik Finilih, S.Si., M.Hum. and Dr. Yayan Alpian, M.Pd. as an examiner from the Jakarta National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) who tested 23 USU FIB lecturers with certification tests for 3 occupational certification schemes, namely the Scientific Article Writing scheme, the Non-Fiction Book Writing scheme, and the Scientific Writing Reviewer scheme.
FIB USU Dean Mrs. Prof. Dr. Dra. T. Thyrhaya Zein, M.A said that certification activities had been carried out previously in 2022, with 21 people graduating in the field of article writing and 15 people graduating as reviewers, a total of 36 people with RKA funds in 2022. This year FIB USU also held certification lecturer for RKA in 2023. USU has established 18 certifications. Hopefully in 2024 they will be realized and also what appropriate competency tests USU already has. The FIB USU Dean also hopes that this lecturer certification activity will run well and that all lecturers who take part will get good grades/pass. The FIB USU Dean also thanked BNSP for assisting participants in this activity.
Head of USU's Human Resources Bureau, Mrs. Dra. Syafnita Hanura Silalahi, M.SP said that this certification is an important basis for ensuring that every lecturer has competencies in accordance with international standards so that they are able to make optimal contributions to the learning process and the Tri Darma. Certification training with the main aim of winning your competence and compositionalism in the field of education in accordance with the standards set by BNSP. In this training, you will gain an in-depth understanding of competency standards relevant to their respective areas of expertise. BNSP certification is not only a form of recognition but also an encouragement to continue to improve oneself, innovate and have a positive impact on students and the academic environment as a whole. The Head of USU's Human Resources Bureau also officially opened the 2023 BNSP Lecturer Competency Certification Test for the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Sumatra Utara.
