The locations visited were Huta Sialagan in Simanindo, Tomb of Sidabutar in Tomok, Batu Hobon, Tomb of Tatea Bulan, Kampung Ulos Huta Raja. Apart from that, the group also saw ulos weavers, traditional houses, mie gomak (noodles) culinary with the characteristic taste of Andaliman spices. All are cultural treasures of the people of Samosir and the archipelago.


HUMAS FIB USU - Thursday, May 16th 2024, the Undergraduate of Historical Science Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatra Utara (USU) held a Field Lecture "Exploration of Toba Land Culture, Archaeological Traces, Documentary in a Narrative". The group of field lecture participants for the 6th semester students of FIB USU Historical Science Study Program totaled 53 people and 5 accompanying lecturers, namely Dr. Suprayitno, Drs. Edi Sumarno, M.Hum., Dra. Junita Setiana Ginting, M.Si., Dra. Nina Karina, M.SP., M. Azis Risky Lubis, S.S., M.A.
The Field Lecture group was inaugurated by Vice Dean III Mhd. Pujiono, S.S., M.Hum., Ph.D. to leave for Samosir Regency. The Field Lecture lasts for 4 days from May 16th - 19th 2024. Students together with Field Supervisors will explore the tangible and intangible cultural heritage found in Samosir. There are 4 collaborating courses, namely Cultural Extension, Tourism Archaeology, Historical Journalism and Historical Documentary Film. It is hoped that after attending this Field Lecture, students will understand more about the situation or facts/conditions regarding cultural heritage in the field. Increase insight, knowledge, experience so that it can also become skills for future job opportunities.
