FIB USU PR - On Tuesday, December 9, 2025, the University of North Sumatra (USU) successfully held the 2025 USU Awards: University Achievement Awards. This annual event recognized lecturers, students, and educational staff who made outstanding contributions throughout 2025. The event took place at the USU Student Center Building.
The 2025 USU Awards carried the theme "Honoring Excellence, Inspiring Impact," reflecting the institution's commitment to recognizing academics, students, lecturers, educational staff, and partners who have demonstrated outstanding achievements, dedication, and contributions to USU.
USU Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., in his remarks expressed his appreciation to the lecturers and students who have brought honor to USU in various competitions, both local and international. He also invited the entire academic community to pray for the victims of the flooding that is still occurring in several areas of Sumatra.
"Your achievements are a source of pride for USU in improving academic quality in the future. However, beyond that, let us also pray for the disaster victims in Sumatra, our brothers and sisters who are currently struggling to emerge from hardship," said the Chancellor.
The Chancellor also urged the academic community to ease the burden on the disaster victims by donating a portion of their income through the USU Managed Fund account. He added that the USU Cares Team, along with students from various student activity units (UKM), continues to distribute aid. This effort demonstrates the academic community's concrete contribution to providing benefits during emergency response situations.
"This awards night is the fourth year it has been held consistently. The goal is to encourage academics, especially lecturers and students, to continue to give their best and achieve in various fields," added the Chancellor.
USU also continues to provide recognition for individuals and units that achieve maximum achievements, particularly in their efforts to internationalize. Several study programs that have achieved international accreditation are clear evidence of the contributions of lecturers, educators, and students in raising the standards of a world-class university.
