HUMAS FIB USU - On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the leadership of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), received a working visit from the USU Directorate of Commercialization, Business, and Risk Management (Dit. KBM). Held at the FIB USU building from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. local time, the strategic meeting focused on identifying and mapping institutional assets and exploring opportunities to commercialize professional services within the faculty.


The USU Dit. KBM delegation was led by Taufik Akbar Parluhutan, S.E., M.Si., Manager of Risk Management and Endowment Funds, and Hafiza Adlina, S.AB., M.AB., Manager of Commercialization and Business. They were welcomed by the Mhd. Pujiono SS., M.Hum., Ph.D (Dekan), Ely Hayati Nasution S.S., M. Si. CIT (Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure), the Head of the FIB USU Equipment Subdivision, and the faculty’s working team.


During the field visit, FIB USU showcased a range of premium facilities and modern infrastructure that are well positioned to be integrated into the creative industry ecosystem and made accessible to the wider public through professionally managed services.


In a dedicated discussion and interview session, Hafiza Adlina, S.AB., M.AB., Manager of Commercialization and Business at Dit. KBM USU, expressed her appreciation for the readiness and quality of FIB USU’s assets.


“FIB USU is not only rich in the values and expertise of the humanities, but is now also supported by outstanding physical facilities. Our well-equipped Ethnomusicology Laboratory and multimedia language laboratory are ready to compete within the creative industry. In line with the university’s direction, Dit. KBM will assist in developing business and risk-management schemes so that these facilities can be made accessible to the public professionally without disrupting regular academic activities,” Hafiza said.


Through the working visit, the FIB USU leadership and Dit. KBM reaffirmed their commitment to following up on the development of standardized operational governance and professional service fee structures. This strategic synergy is expected to transform FIB USU’s academic potential into productive new business units while contributing to the long-term financial sustainability and institutional self-reliance of Universitas Sumatera Utara.
