FIB USU PR - August 10, 2026 — The Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Universitas Sumatera Utara (FIB USU) conducted a support and mentoring program to optimize the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) from Monday to Tuesday, August 10–11, 2026. Held at Building O, First Floor, FIB USU, the program was part of the faculty’s efforts to strengthen the use of digital technology in supporting the learning process.
The mentoring program was designed to strengthen the academic community’s understanding and skills in optimizing the LMS as a digital learning platform. Its use is expected to support a more structured learning process while facilitating the delivery of learning materials, management of learning activities, and academic interaction.
The two-day program provided participants with an opportunity to enhance their understanding of how the LMS can be utilized in academic activities. Through the mentoring sessions, the digital learning platform is expected to be used not merely for administrative purposes but also as an integral component of more effective and technology-responsive learning strategies.
Optimizing the LMS is also an important part of advancing digital transformation in higher education. The use of technology in the learning process enables learning materials and academic activities to be managed more systematically while supporting greater flexibility in teaching and learning.
For FIB USU, strengthening LMS utilization is aligned with the need to continuously develop a learning system that responds to advances in information technology. Digital platform competencies are increasingly important in preparing members of the academic community to adapt to changes in the higher education ecosystem.
The two-day mentoring program represents one of FIB USU’s efforts to strengthen technology-enabled learning. Optimizing the LMS is expected to enhance the academic community’s ability to use digital platforms more effectively and in an integrated manner.
The sustained use of the LMS is also expected to foster a more adaptive learning process, support academic interaction, and provide learning experiences that are aligned with developments in educational technology.
Through this initiative, FIB USU continues to strengthen the capacity of its academic community while expanding the use of digital technology to support quality education. These efforts reflect the faculty’s commitment to developing an innovative, adaptive, and quality-oriented learning ecosystem.
